District Sales Manager
Southwest Region based in the Houston area;
territory includes Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas.

FUNCTION: |
Responsible for customer relationship development, sales, and services in a specified geographic area or district. |
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Generates and follows up on leads; aggressively pursues potential inquiries and orders; markets Company products and services; and contacts prospective, new, and current customers in person to ascertain and quote on the need for the Company products and services.
- Responsible for developing positive working relationships with customers, Inside Sales, and management.
- Develops new and targeted accounts and maintains desired daily sales call average.
- Responsible for completing daily call reports; weekly updates; and daily, weekly, and monthly scheduling plans.
- Responds to complaints and suggestions relative to Company products and services by referring situation to appropriate Company personnel and advising customer as to final disposition.
- Attends and participates in meetings, seminars, trade shows, and civic events.
- Provides sales management with information needed to develop and evaluate sales forecasts.
- Makes suggestions regarding improvements or changes to promotion and advertising programs.
- Performs additional duties and responsibilities as requested.
Knowlwdge, Skills and Abilities:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of five years of related experience required.
- Must be an effective listener with excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively interface with all levels of customer representatives.
- Must maintain a neat, well-groomed, professional appearance and demeanor.
- Must be able and willing to regularly travel with overnight stays of up to five consecutive nights; typically 8 – 10 overnight away-from-home stays per month.
- Ability and willingness to be a team player who is receptive to coaching and constructive feedback.
- Excellent planning and organization skills required.
- High degree of integrity and initiative required (a “self-starter”). Ability to work alone with frequent communications with the Regional Sales Manager required.
- Good working knowledge of Company’s products and services and the stainless steel and nickel alloy markets preferred.
- Knowledge of customers and their products helpful for new hire, essential for long-term successful job performance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience in SalesLogix preferred.
