E-Z Drill Stainless Steel Plate
Sandmeyer Steel Company produces a free-machining
version of types 304, 304H, 304L, 316, and 316L stainless
steel plate. The improved machinability of these steels
is the result of carefully controlled chemical analysis
and improved melting practices that reduce the size
of non-metallic inclusions that are common in air-melted
stainless steel.

We tested our drilling
operations on 1/2", 3/4", 1", 1-1/4",
and 1-1/2" oil hole drilling.
The optimum performance came at 50 SFM on each
drill. This is basically the same RPM range we
normally run on each size. However, we were able
to increase feed rates and penetration rates significantly
on each size. |
