Steel Company stocks a full range of Alloy 410, which
is a basic, general-purpose, magnetic, and hardenable
grade by quenching and tempering.
Martensitic stainless steel plate has
a relatively high carbon content (0.1% - 1.2%) compared
to other stainless steels. The martensitic stainless
steels are plain chromium steels containing between
12% and 18% chromium. These stainless steels can be
heat treated to obtain high strength with good ductility.
Martensitic stainless steel plate has very high hardenability.
When only limited corrosion resistance or resistance
to moderately elevated temperature scaling is required,
martensitic stainless steel plate can be used in the
annealed condition, but its highest corrosion resistance
is attained in the hardened and stress relieved (low
temperature tempered) condition.
