Sandmeyer Steel Company Adds New Bandsaw
to Integrated Cutting Center
Philadelphia, PA – February 4, 2009
Sandmeyer Steel Company has recently added a new bandsaw to its fully-integrated Bandsaw Cutting Center. The new bandsaw complements our existing machines. It features a fully automated cutting head and plate feed, assuring the accuracy and repeatability of every cut.
The addition of another bandsaw once again demonstrates Sandmeyer Steel Company's commitment to being the premier cutting service organization for stainless steel and nickel alloy plate and plate products. The center is designed to process our largest full-size plates as well as cut narrow bars, which can be stripped from plate to supply non-standard sizes and
material types.
Bandsaw cutting provides a better edge quality than plasma cutting and virtually eliminates taper and out-of square edges. It also does not have a heat-affected zone, saving customers both time and tooling costs. The additional bandsaw cutting capacity also assures Sandmeyer's customers shorter lead times.
Sandmeyer Steel Company maintains the largest single-site inventory of stainless steel and nickel alloy plate and plate products in North America – over 15 million pounds. With over 100 pieces of in-house plate processing equipment, Sandmeyer Steel Company also offers unmatched value added plate processing capabilities.
Sandmeyer Steel Company was founded in
1952 by the late Paul C. Sandmeyer. Family owned
and managed, the Company is recognized as a leading
producer of stainless steel and nickel alloy plate products
used in capital equipment for the chemical and other
process industries. The Company services customers
throughout the world.
