HURLEY RETIRES AFTER 41 YEARS WITH
SANDMEYER STEEL COMPANY
Philadelphia, PA - October 29, 2002 --
Denis Hurley, Vice
President - Sales for Sandmeyer Steel Company, has announced
his retirement, effective November 1, 2002, after 41 years of
service.
A native of Pittsburgh,
Hurley graduated from Robert Morris Business School. Following
that, he began his career with Sandmeyer Steel Company as an
Accountant. After two years, he was transferred to the Company's
Sales Department where he held various sales positions throughout
his career, ultimately being named Vice President - Sales in
1993.
During his career,
Hurley was active in a number of industry associations, including
the Steel Plate Fabricators Association (SPFA), for which he
served as the first associate-member Director, the Specialty
Steel Industry of North America (SSINA), the Metals Service
Center Institute (MSCI), and the American Society of Metals
(ASM).
Sandmeyer Steel
Company, founded by the late Paul C. Sandmeyer, celebrates its
50th anniversary this year. Family owned and managed, the Company
is recognized as a leading producer of stainless steel plate and nickel alloy plate products used in processing equipment for the chemical,
wastewater treatment, pulp and paper, energy, food and beverage,
and high vacuum industries. The Company employs 135 employees
and services customers throughout North America.
