Stainless steel plate is a widely-used
material for applications that require high levels of
corrosion resistance. Sandmeyer Steel Company is a stainless
steel plate product manufacturer who provides competitive
prices for a variety of stainless
steel plate products. Additionally, Sandmeyer Steel
Company offers many value added processes for fabricating
the products that our customers need.
Listed below are a few examples of the stainless
steel grades that Sandmeyer Steel Company uses:
304 Stainless
Steel Plate
An austenitic stainless steel, 304 stainless steel plate
(along with 304H and 304L stainless steel) is a basic
alloy and is available at Sandmeyer Steel Company in
3/16" through 6-1/2" at 1/8" increments.
Alloy 304 contains the minimum levels of chromium (18%)
and nickel (8%) with the maximum amount of carbon (0.08%).
These values vary for the 304H and 304L grades. Exhibiting
high resistances to corrosion and oxidation, this material
does not contaminate product, is easily fabricated and
cleaned, and is beautiful in appearance. Additionally,
Alloy 304 is easily formed and provides high strength
with a low weight.
316 and
316L Plate
Providing a higher level of corrosion resistance and
pitting/crevice corrosion resistance, 316 stainless
steel plate (as well as 316L plate) is a molybdenum-bearing
austenite. Sandmeyer Steel Company stocks 316 stainless
steel plate in thicknesses from 3/16" through 6-1/2"
at 1/8" increments. This material is easily formed
or fabricated and is available as E-Z Drill for better
machinability. Ideal for harsh environments and elevated
temperatures, Alloy 316 provides higher tensile strength,
creep, and stress-to-rupture.
410 Stainless
Steel
A martensitic grade, 410 stainless steel plate is a
basic material which is hardenable and widely used for
many applications. Alloy 410 provides excellent resistance
to corrosion and resistance to wear in addition to high
strength after being oil quenched between 1700°F
to 1850°F (927-1010°C). Sandmeyer Steel Company
stocks this plate in thicknesses from 3/16" to
4".
17-4PH Stainless
Steel Plate
A precipitation-hardened martensitic stainless steel,
17-4PH combines corrosion resistance with high strength
and hardness. Sandmeyer Steel Company's 17-4PH stainless
steel plates are annealed and stocked in thicknesses
from 3/16" to 3." 17-4PH has a high yield
strength and is capable of achieving 1130 - 1300MPa
or 160 - 190 ksi after heat treatment. Out of all standard
hardenable stainless steels, this material has one of
the highest corrosion resistance levels.
347 Stainless
Steel Plate
Alloy 347 is known as a stabilized stainless steel which
resists intergranular corrosion after exposure to a
temperature range of 800 to 1500°F (427 to 816°C).
With stabilizing elements niobium (columbium) and tantalum,
347 stainless steel plate exhibits good mechanical properties
in prolonged high temperatures due to higher creep and
stress rupture properties.
Sandmeyer Steel Company also houses an extensive inventory
of Duplex stainless steel plates, including 2205
Duplex stainless steel and 2507
Duplex stainless steel.
